Personal and Professional Background
Joanne has recently been appointed as an Senior Associate in McCabe Terrill’s professional indemnity unit. Joanne graduated from the University of Cape Town (South Africa) in 2002 with a BA LLB (Cum Laude). She was admitted to practice in the Cape of Good Hope Provincial Division in 2004, after completing two years as a Candidate Attorney in the insurance litigation unit of a major South African law firm, at which time she was appointed as an Associate in the insurance litigation unit.
Since being admitted to practice Joanne has gained extensive experience in representing a range of professionals in matters relating to professional indemnity. She has handled a number of claims for architects, engineers, lawyers, auditors, brokers and medical practitioners (including complaints to professional bodies, civil claims in the High Court and Magistrate’s Courts, inquests, as well as statutory enquiries arising from alleged negligence.)
